DESCRIPTION:
As the name of the hill suggests — and as the nearby street Via Castello recalls — a castle once stood here, although no trace of it remains today.
From that castle, the lords of the time used to walk down to attend mass at the Oratory of the Holy Trinity.
Today, visitors can instead see a trachyte monument, erected in 1921.
In 1980, the local Alpini group restored the area around the monument and raised a flagpole for the flag-raising ceremony.
A year later, on June 21, 1981, the Alpini added a commemorative plaque.
